# Apply for Membership

DisabiliT4T is a Membership-based Intentional Community. To join, you'll need to be vetted so we can make sure that your values, conflict resolution skills, and airborne disease precautions are aligned with our [Commonalities and Core Values and Beliefs.](https://disabilit4t.org/blueprints/commonalities-and-core-values-beliefs?hsLang=en) Every Member is vetted by two different Stewards so no one can make unilateral decisions about who gets to join.

Before you apply, we strongly encourage you to familiarize yourself with our [Community Blueprints](https://disabilit4t.org/blueprints?hsLang=en) to ensure you understand the benefits, responsibilities, and commitments involved with being a Member of this Intentional Community.

### Our First Cohort of Members

If you apply for Membership now, please expect not to hear a decision until November. If you're approved, you'll be a part of our first cohort of vetted Members, launching this December!

Applications will temporarily close when we launch. We’ll do a three-month trial run with our first cohort to get us operating smoothly and put our decision-making processes, administrative systems, online community, and safety measures to the test. After those three months, we plan to open the vetting form again and begin accepting new Members on a rolling basis.

### How to Apply

We are very flexible about how you apply. Here are some options for how you can apply for Membership:

1. Simply fill out the Member Vetting Form below.
2. Make a copy of the vetting form on [Google Docs \[link opens in new tab\]](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1LerOO0Cji3-0zs1FCp0-TNHqPlc4im5RzWCORNwh2Xg/edit?usp=sharing) or [Proton Drive \[link opens in new tab\]](https://drive.proton.me/urls/B9W684T0C8#vxfIrUUgWvzS). Write your answers at your own pace. When you're ready, you can fill out the form below with your prepared answers *or* send a PDF of the completed document to [vetting@disabilit4t.org](mailto:vetting@disabilit4t.org) with the subject line "VETTING FORM."
3. Submit a voice recording where you answer each of the vetting questions in order. Files can be emailed to [vetting@disabilit4t.org](mailto:vetting@disabilit4t.org) with the subject line "VETTING FORM."
4. Arrange a synchronous call with a Steward, who will ask you the vetting questions and document your answers. Reach out to [vetting@disabilit4t.org](mailto:vetting@disabilit4t.org) to schedule.
